EFOA Donation and Financial Aid Policy
1. Purpose
This policy outlines how donations are received, managed, and distributed by the European Federation of Ocularists and Anaplastologists (“EFOA”, “we”, “us”, “our”), and how individuals may apply for financial aid from these funds.
2. Donations
- All donations are voluntary and non-refundable.
- Funds received will be allocated strictly for charitable purposes, as defined by the objectives of EFOA.
- Donors may indicate a preferred area of support, but the final allocation of funds remains at the sole discretion of the organization.
- We commit to ensuring donations are used for their intended purposes and not misused.
3. Application for Financial Aid
- Individuals seeking financial aid must submit a Financial Aid Application Form, along with supporting documentation (e.g., proof of medical need, identity documents, as well as any necessary documents that will be specified once the initial contact for the request is made in order to comprehensively assess the application).
- Applications will be reviewed confidentially by our designated committee(s).
- Decisions will be made based on need, available funds, and alignment with our charitable objectives.
- Applicants understand that submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
- Personal data provided will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
4.Distribution of Aid
- Approved aid may be provided in the form of direct financial assistance, reimbursement, or direct payments to service providers (e.g., healthcare professionals).
- EFOA does not guarantee any medical outcome and bears no liability for the services provided by third parties.
- Beneficiaries remain responsible for conducting their own due diligence when engaging with doctors or healthcare professionals.
5. Transparency and Accountability
- Records of donations received, and aid distributed will be maintained in line with applicable legal and accounting standards.
- We may publish general reports on donation impact, but individual applicant details will remain confidential unless explicit consent is given.
6. Legal Disclaimer
- All donations are final and do not establish any contractual obligation between the donor and EFOA beyond their charitable intent.
- EFOA acts only as a facilitator of financial assistance. We are not responsible or liable for any medical services, advice, or outcomes provided by third parties (including doctors or clinics and even EFOA members) to aid recipients.
- Beneficiaries acknowledge that any relationship with healthcare providers is independent and undertaken at their own risk.
- By applying for aid or accepting financial support, beneficiaries agree to indemnify and hold harmless EFOA, its officers, members, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use of such aid.
- This policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
